The Fence

Today was a rest day as I have the flu, and the most energetic thing I did today was take a photo out our bedroom window. Down at the bottom of the hill are two fences with a road between. It isn't a public road, but the patrol road along the border between Israel and the West Bank. Where we are staying is a gated community with its own security unit, paid for by the residents. Across the fence is an Checen Islamic Community. In the past there have been security issues but where the fence has gone up, the troubles have stopped. In some places the fence isn't wire, it's 5m of concrete laced on top with razor wire. You see it snaking across the countryside and through the outskirts of Jerusalem.
Tomorrow we are looking to catch buses and light train back to old Jerusalem to spend a day there looking and absorbing the atmosphere. I want to have a go getting to the Dome on the Rock but Helen isn't so sure.
